Permissions lab
Every Linux file says who can read, write and run it in nine letters. Click the letters to switch them on and off, watch the numbers and chmod commands follow, then lock files down with least privilege. The tasks change every run.
Practice for defenders. This lab trains the skills SOC analysts, incident responders and sysadmins use to protect systems. Everything runs in your browser. The companies, people, data and IP addresses are made up, and nothing here touches a real system. Only use security skills on systems you own or have written permission to test.

r = 4, w = 2, x = 1. Add them up for each of owner, group and others. Type three digits to set them all at once.
All tasks done.
The rule of thumb: give each file the least access that still does the job. If a guide says chmod 777, it's almost always wrong.
